VERANDAH POST FILMS FACILITY

VERANDAH POST FILMS (VPF) was established in 2002 as a volunteer organisation of Nambucca Valley people interested in making films locally and drawing on the talents of an active local writer's group (Nambucca Valley Writers Group). Four short digital video films have been made by VPF: two short comedy-dramas (Outside the Square and Dear Old Dad) and two short doco's (Restoration of the Bowraville Theatre and Spotlight on Bowraville). Many founding VPF members were amateurs and gained a wealth of knowledge from our celebrated professional members! All equipment used was members' own or borrowed and sometimes rather cobbled together to make do with what we had.

Now, the VERANDAH POST FILMS FACILITY has been established with the support of the NSW Government, through a grant from the Area Assistance Scheme. This will allow VPF members to take a film idea right through to completion with HDV technology. The facility includes a SONY HVR-Z1P Camera & equipment and an editing suite based around an Apple Mac G5 with Final Cut Pro Studio.

VERANDAH POST FILMS will provide access for members to the facility through workshops, mentoring and short film or project-based activities. Membership is low-cost at less than $30 p.a. to be accessible to all in the community.
